Eating ice cream is usually a true pleasure.
And those who are watching their weight need
not avoid it. We all know that there are no
"good" or "bad" foods, but
rather balanced diets as opposed to bad eating
habits. Everyone should correct the false assumption
that ice cream is high in calories. Ice cream
is a food product that can easily form a part
of any person’s daily diet – its
nutritional value merely needs to be incorporated
as part of an overall varied and balanced diet.
In any case, ice cream is an enjoyable food
for all. No one should think that eating it
breaks one's diet. Even when it comes to cream-based
ice creams, when eaten in proper portions, they
don’t amount to more than 12 percent of
total calorie-intake required in a normal daily
diet.
In comparison to baked goods, ice cream proves
to be much lower in calories: it provides between
one-half and one-third the calories present
in cakes. And one must not forget that cakes
are much higher in sugar than ice cream.
